Project Objectives

SKUAST-K Activities

1. Establishment of Feed unit.
2. Development of a database of locally available ingredients - plant and animal-based as per nutrient availability.
3. Technology development of Low cost feed
Establishment of Fish Hatchery.
4. Development of diversified trout/carp broodstock for the selective breeding programme.
5. Quality Trout seed production.
6. Establishment of disease diagnostic laboratory.
7. Prophylactic measures & Development of accurate and sensitive diagnostic tools.
8. Establishment of Fish processing and value addition laboratory.
9. Technology validation for drying and smoking.
10. Development of canned trout, fish soup powder and extruded products.
